http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab318/Juanfra1957/ESCALARES/IMG_6771_Azulete-lado-izquierdo_zpsf960c4ff.jpg

http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab318/Juanfra1957/ESCALARES%20CRIANDO/Bigotes-Linda.gif

Well I would like to comment the current line of work Scalar playback. And how to know your opinion on the question at the end.

I put the tree followed to reach these individuals (+ / g - pb / pb)

My idea is replayed to get to Silver Blue pure (+ / + - pb / pb). After making several crossings with Platinum, I question arises. A Scale Silver Blue Dorado carrying the gene in heterozygous form would be less intense blue color if you were carrying the Dorado?.

We know that the gene Homozygous Dorado in form if displayed, but affects color something Heterozygous form?.

If I am understanding your question correctly, you are asking if the presence of a gold gene (+/g) can affect the intensity of blue with homozygous blue (pb/pb). I have seen many discussions on this subject. And, it has been my understanding that the gold gene can lessen the blue color.

I have Blue Smokey angels that carry a Gold Marble (Gm) or a Gold (g) gene. I have not yet successfully bred them, so only have the physical characteristics (phenotypes) to work with. In my angels, I suspect there is a Gold gene present due to the fact that the dorsal fins display gold striations.

Blue Smokey Pearlscale {possible Gold gene} (pb/pb - Sm/+ - p/p - {+/g})

Comparing the above individual with a pure Blue Silver angelfish, there is a difference in the blue intensity. But I do not know if it is the presence of a Gold gene that is the cause or if it is the presence of the Smokey gene.

Blue Silver (pb/pb)

Catsma thank you very much, I am grateful for the response.

The specimens that have placed are beautiful, and you can see the excellent work done in the selection of specimens due to carry them.

Let's see if I can get to (+ / + - pb / pb)

You are definitely on the right track to end with a Blue Silver (+/+ - pb/pb).

Thanks catsma, see if you placed me in the same search using books already possess the gene (bp).

http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab318/Juanfra1957/ESCALARES%20CRIANDO/Bigotes-Linda-1_zps66ece7bb.gif
http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab318/Juanfra1957/ESCALARES%20CRIANDO/Merlin-Odisea-2_zpsd98506d7.gif

Pure Blue Silver
(+/+ - pb/pb) 6.25%

Carrier Blue Silver Gold
(g/+ - pb/pb) 12.5%

Silver Blue carrier Halfblack
(+/+ - h/+ - pb/pb) 6.25%

Gold and Silver Blue Halfblack carrier
(g/+ - h/+ - pb/pb) 12.5%

Platinum
(g/g - h/+ - pb/pb) 6.25%
(g/g - pb/pb) 6.25%

Gold
(g/g - h/+ - pb/+) 6.25%
(g/g - pb/+) 6.25%

Silver
(g/+ - h/+ - pb/+) 12.5%
(g/+ - pb/+) 12.5%
(+/+ - h/+ - pb/+) 6.25%
(+/+ - pb/+) 6.25%

Well it's a matter of updating and rethinking the whole issue to get the pure Blue Silver (+ / + - pb / pb).

The two units that had were two males eventually but both carriers Silver Blue Gold (+ / g - pb / pb).

After the disaster of the aquarium where you lose half dozen of his brothers had, forcing me to rethink a new search in other ways, at least to regain Female Silver Blue. And it will draw on the copies I got from HalfBlack carriers and Platinum.

Of course if the maremagnun mounted battery disarmament has not gotten a Silver that does not have anything.

I'll pick you should walk montaros as pedigrees and current partner. (By the way on Sunday surprised me with his first start and now hatched).

Well this is the development so far:

From this couple and confirming that I was right to choose the female should go:

Regards

It has been a month since free swimming fry, try to get a video to upload. Of the Silver Angelfish can see a significant difference between those who will be carriers of the gene "Platinum".

The differences between the "Silver Blue" not for the time difference between those who carry the "Dorado" (+ / g - pb / pb) and (+ / + - pb / pb).

I update, I placed a video of juveniles with 46 days since eclocionaron and 41 days of free swimming, it is still difficult to distinguish between the Silver and Blue Siver, but they begin to differentiate into something.

Hola Catsma, gracias.

Hello Catsma, thanks.

In genes that are transmitted in the Silver Blue characteristic appears as white spots caudal tail of Platinum.

Do not know if this feature will show before, but I am aware of your appearance.

Hello Atreyu, I applaud your working with the Philippine Blue genes, Ken Kennedy, the founder of this gene discovered it's existence within the Platinum Angelfish. In the beginning stages to extract this recessive gene, one is still as you know faced with the influence of the gold gene. As a breeder, I personally have done this numerous times and the gold gene will always show it's little head when you least expect it. I have used the term, "Throw Back", where original genes just appear irregardless of the common rules, such are the issues of genetics. As for phenotype, there will be times when a phenotype will actually not be what it appears. Example, my famous pair;

Pinoy Zebra/25% Rio Negro Altum Pair;
16

This pair carried a Gold Undertone, of which many believed were carrying a gold gene, but reality proved that was never so. Outside of an occassional throw back of their wild side, meaning a Silver or Zebra of the Wild Phenotype, all of their offspring's Phenotype was that of their parents in Lace and Zebra and occasionally a PB Silver or Zebra. This pair was breed non-stop for (4) years, in between I would pair them up to others as well. From the thousands of offsprings produced, what I mentioned above was always the outcome.

In breeding Wild Caught Scalare x Platinum, as you know the F1s will all be Het for the pb & gold genes, yet if (2) siblings are bred together, they will still be 50% Wild and 25% will express Blue. Now you breed (2) Blue siblings together and it's true their progeny of that spawn should have a more intensified Blue Color. After several years of breeding and crossing the pb gene, nothing surprises me anymore

It has been almost two months since the free swimming, In the weekend I left only the Blue Platas are 41 in total, as well as calculations of these should be about 7 scalar Silver blue (+ / + - pb / pb) the rest (+ / g - pb / pb). So try to take them at 4 months and see if you can see those differences.

Here some photos.
