In July my wife bought me a pair of Procambarus Clarkii crayfish as a birthday present. The female had been in her burrow for about 7 days and today I found hundreds of little crayfish roaming the tank. Looks like we will be adding a new chitin-rich live food to our breeder conditioning regime.

We are also considering the Marmorkrebs self-cloning (parthenogenetic) crayfish as they have a higher reproduction rate as compared to the Clarkii. Anyone else raising crayfish as a food source, or collecting them wild for the same? Would love to hear of your experiences.
