    The sounds in the Scalar

I would like to start this thread with the sounds emitted by Scalar. The sounds are put below the pharyngeal jaws made, by feeding in this case scales.

    A greeting.

The key as you can imagine is the hydrophone, its sensitivity and the fact that an item prepared for what is essential aquatic, initially tried with normal microphones which apantallaba and isolating the water, but never got the result optimum.

Then once we got the sound reproduction to amplification, recording, etc.., This second gizmo can be replaced by any other means, I wanted a small portable amp that was independent (batteries).

This material ordered as I said to America "Aquarian Audio products".

That is so cool that you've been able to capture their voice and sounds.

Currently in these days, I'm isolating a sound produced by males when Pterophyllum scalare defend a territory. While the former was sound by the mechanical action of the jaw bone in this case if that occurs with all intent.

I find your research fascinating! I am not aware of anyone else attempting to capture sounds emitted by p. scalare.

We can see the physical actions of the male when defending his territory. So, I would imagine there are sounds emitted as well. I would be very interested in seeing your video once you are able to capture such an event.

    Best of luck!

    ¡Mucha suerte!
