Clown Black
and Black Clown Non-wild alleles that interact to form these phenotypes:
CLOWN BLACK
(D/+ - Z/S) A clown black is a black lace with the addition of one zebra allele and one stripeless allele. When a zebra allele and a stripeless allele appear together, the result is a random broken pattern to the stripes.
BLACK CLOWN (D/D - Z/S) The black clown is similar in appearance to the clown black, but much darker because it is homozygous (double dose) for the dark allele.
HYBRID BLACK CLOWN [no photos available] A hybrid black clown will have one of these phenotypes.
No information was found on the phenotypic expression of hybrid black clowns. Photos are needed of angelfish that are confirmed to have any of the hybrid black clown genotypes. If you have a photo to contribute to thus library, please submit it to the Standards Committee along with information on the genotype. Approved by The Angelfish Society Standards Committee on March 11, 2007.
