Leopard Black
and
Leopard Black Ghost
Multiple Locus Phenotype
Non-wild
alleles that interact to form this phenotype:
Dark (D), Zebra (Z),
Stripeless (S) (in ghosts),
Smokey (Sm)

Leopard black
and leopard black ghost phenotypes would be difficult to distinguishable
from each other. The different phenotype names are more useful for
describing the genotype than the phenotype. A leopard black has one of
these the genotypes:
D/D - Z/+ -
Sm/Sm
D/D – Z/Z – Sm/Sm
D/Gm -
Z/+ - Sm/Sm
D/Gm - Z/Z - Sm/Sm
D/g - Z/+ - Sm/Sm
D/g - Z/Z - Sm/Sm
A leopard
black ghost is a leopard black with the addition of one stripeless
allele. A “leopard” angelfish requires at least one zebra allele, and a
ghost requires one stripeless allele. Since zebra and stripeless act as
alleles of each other, the leopard black ghost will always haveone zebra
and one stripeless allele, and will have one of these genotypes:
D/+ - Z/S -
Sm/Sm
D/D - Z/S - Sm/Sm
D/Gm - Z/S - Sm/Sm
D/g - Z/S - Sm/Sm
