Marble Blushing
Multiple Locus Phenotype

Non-wild alleles that interact to form this phenotype:

 Marble Blushing

A marble blushing angelfish is a marble with the addition of two Stripeless alleles (S/S). Since marble can be homozygous (M/M) or heterozygous with one gold marble or one gold allele (M/Gm or M/g), possible genotypes for a marble blushing are:

M/M – S/S
M/Gm – S/S
M/g – S/S

A marble blushing angelfish will have the distinctive pink circular area over the gills when young.  As an adult, the pink may no longer be visible, but the marble blushing phenotype can be distinguished from non-blushing marbles by the absence of any horizontal striations in the dorsal fin or any lacey patterning in the tail.
