Marble
Ghost
Multiple Locus Phenotype
Non-wild
alleles that interact to form this phenotype:
Marble (M), Stripeless
(S)

A marble
ghost is a marble angelfish with one stripeless allele. The marble ghost
has a marble allele paired with another marble allele, or with a gold
marble or gold allele, and will have one of these genotypes:
M/M – S/+
M/Gm – S/+
M/Gm – S/+
It is
virtually indistinguishable from a non-ghost marble (one that does not
have the stripeless allele). A person who works with a particular strain
of marble may discern a slightly lighter expression of color. If the
angelfish has an orange crown, the orange color will tend to be paler than
in a non-ghost marble. However, the average person probably won’t detect
any obvious difference between a marble and a marble ghost.
