Marble Pearlscale

Non-wild alleles that interact to form this phenotype:
Marble (M),  Pearlscale (p)

A marble pearlscale is any of the marble angelfish varieties with two alleles for pearlscale.  Pearlscale alters the shape and alignment of the scales to make them more reflective of light.  The coloration and distribution of black markings is not affected by the addition of the pearlscale trait.   The pearlscale shows up well on the lighter colored parts of the body, but will not show up well against the black marbled areas.  Possible genotypes for the marble pearlscale are:

 M/+ - p/p
M/M – p/p
M/Gm – p/p
M/g – p/p

Approved by The Angelfish Society Standards Committee on May 14, 2007.
