Smokey Leopard
Multiple Locus Phenotype

Non-wild alleles that interact to form this phenotype:
Smokey (Sm), Zebra (Z)

Smokey Leopard

A smokey leopard is a smokey (Sm/+) with one or two alleles for Zebra (Z/+ or Z/Z) and has one of these two phenotypes:

Sm/+ - Z/+
Sm/+ - Z/Z

A smokey leopard will be speckled with small dark spots of pigment as a fry and young juvenile with the color filling on the back half of the body to more closely resemble the pigment distribution of a smokey as the angelfish matures.

Approved by The Angelfish Society Standards Committee on March 11, 2007.
