A smokey
leopard is a smokey (Sm/+) with one or two alleles for Zebra (Z/+ or Z/Z)
and has one of these two phenotypes:
Sm/+ - Z/+
Sm/+ - Z/Z
A smokey
leopard will be speckled with small dark spots of pigment as a fry and
young juvenile with the color filling on the back half of the body to more
closely resemble the pigment distribution of a smokey as the angelfish
matures.
