 The Angelfish Society Standards Committee
presents,

Phenotype Library 2007

One of the most essential resources that The Angelfish Society provides is its continuing effort to help categorize various genetic mutations found in angelfish.  To that extent the society offers a phenotype library to both members and non-members alike, which acts as a cornerstone for identification of angelfish.  A number of years ago the standards committee, led by Stuart Chale, put the first edition of the phenotype library online. The original phenotype library was an invaluable resource, and is still used by many people to this day.

In an effort to continue this work the current standards committee has created the Phenotype Library 2007. Similar to the first edition library we hope that this new updated library can be used to help easily identify angelfish. Some of the highlights include,

  • Easy Navigation
  • Higher Resolution Photos
  • Increased Number of Photos
  • In Depth Phenotype Descriptions
  • Single and Multi-locus Interaction Phenotypes
  • Regular Updates

Currently the library consists of all known single locus phenotypes and we are working hard to rapidly get the multi-locus phenotypes online. We hope to continue to update and improve these pages to produce a top-notch library, so be sure to check back often for updates. And while we will no longer be updating the first edition library it will remain archived on the society's web server, the link for which can be found at the bottom of the table of contents.

Finally, we would like to thank all the people who have contributed photos over the years via the TAS photo contests or directly to the Standards Committee. Without your contributions we would have never been able to get this library off the ground.
