Streaked Locus
Non-wild alleles at this locus:
Streaked (St)
Possible
phenotypes:
Streaked (St/+, St/St)
Streaked (St/+,
St/St)

The Streaked phenotype results from the presence of either single or
double dose of the dominant Streaked mutation. Angelfish showing the
streaked phenotype will show white streaks in the dorsal and sometimes
anal fins. Since the streaks are typically white the gene is usually only
seen in darkly colored fish. Lighter colored fish can carry the allele however they
will show no phenotype.
Not much
is known about the Streaked phenotype since it is often difficult to see.
There is some evidence that the Streaked phenotype can result in the
atypical expression of other mutations such as Smokey,
Marble, and Gold
Marble
Interacting
Mutations
Although there have been
some reports of Streaked interacting with a number of phenotypes (Smokey,
Dark, and Marble for example) none of these interactions have been
confirmed.
